Abstract: The spontaneous combustion of pulverized coal is closely related to its oxidation characteristics at low temperature. In this article, the adiabatic oxidation characteristics of three normal pulverized coal commonly used in pulverized-coal industrial fired boiler has been studied by adiabatic oxidation, and the heating curves and the gas yield were gained. The results show that the higher the volatile matter content of the afterburning fuel pulverized coal is, the lower the low-temperature oxidation activation energy is, and the stronger the coal spontaneous combustion tendency is. The concentration of CO, CO2,CH4 increases with the coal temperature, while the concentration of O2 decreases. Considering various factors, CO concentration can be used as the main indicators of early warning, and CH4 and O2 concentration can be used as secondary indicators.
