The composite support technology of soft coal roadway with large loosen zone

Abstract: In light of the coal roadway deformation and breakage problems in soft rock conditions under dynamic pressure influence, the borehole TV and sonic wave testing were used to survey the failure modes and rules of roadway surrounding rock based on coupled supporting principle and broken-rock circle theory, and the failure mechanism of surrounding rock was obtained through numerical simulation. The combining passive and active support by cereals and supplemented by the coupled- strengthen supporting technology were designed in this paper. The results show that the loosen zone of the coal roadway sides is belong to the typical big loosen zone with a more acute roof-off-strata problem. It can substantially strengthen active supporting capacity by using deep anchor support and improve the self-bearing capacity and stability of coal pillar by optimizing the pillar size. It can realize multi-zone cascade bearing and overall strengthening on the roadway surrounding rock by using compound support technology which combine both passive and active support methods and coupled-strengthen supporting technology.
