Abstract: Coal mine production is one of the major economic pillars in China. However, coal mine accidents occur from time to time, causing serious losses to the country and the people. In this paper, the trajectory cross model is proposed to analyze the major and above accidents occurring in coal mines from 2014 to 2016. Trajectory crossover accident pattern indicates that accidents are caused by the unsafe behavior of human beings and the insecurity of objects (equipment, environment) in time and space. Based on this theory, the causes of gas explosion accidents, gas outbursts, flood accidents and roof accidents have been analyzed respectively and measures and recommendations have been proposed from three aspects of people's unsafe behavior, unsafe status of objects, and the intersection of the two trajectories to prevent the occurring of coal mine accidents.
