Research and application of integrated detection-blocking-verification technology for coal mine fires

Abstract:

A comprehensive technology system for fire source localization and control has been developed, integrating distributed temperature sensing (DTS), fire-retardant sealed wall construction, and airtightness verification. This system addresses the technical challenges associated with low precision in fire source localization and extended remediation cycles for abandoned coal self-ignition disasters. By employing DTS technology, the system enables precise three-dimensional temperature field monitoring and utilizes a three-dimensional surface heat source radiation model to inversely determine fire source locations and their spatial distribution. Innovatively, ground-based multi-branch directional drilling injection technology is applied to rapidly isolate fire zones through the construction of fire-retardant sealed walls within affected roadways. A dynamic monitoring system is established to synchronize CH4, CO2, and O2 concentration data between ground and underground environments, thereby verifying the airtightness of sealed walls. This technology was successfully implemented at the 6114 working face of Shanxi Weidong Mine, achieving high accuracy in fire source localization and rapid remediation efficiency, with fire suppression accomplished within 23 days and mine operations resuming after 37 days.
