Abstract: For better understanding and application of “Code for energy conservation design on open pit mine of coal industry” (GB51197-2016), which will be implemented from July 1st, 2017, explanations to the first edition of the code is wrote from the objective, significance, chapter construction, features, important clause analysis, code correct application, etc. The aim is to promote energy saving of the open pit mine, improve the energy efficiency, unify the design standard of the open pit mine in coal industry, increase the design level of the open pit mine and provide the understanding and implementation of the first edition of the code.
