Abstract: Based on the safe mine problem in Shangwan coal mine close distance seams, researched rock pressure phenomenon of pushing through coal pillar in Shangwan mine No.12302 workface used the methods of theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and engineering practice. Research results showed that: the advanced roof structure falling caused by depth borehole forced roof caving in overlying coal seam is helpful for the coal seam workface pushing through coal pillar smoothly;result of numerical simulation showed that the descending amount of pistom is expected to 133mm, at the same time, the reasonable working face supporting intensity of support resistance is about 11 000 kN; engineering practice results indicate that rock pressure in 12302 workface only appeared slow pressure sometimes. Research results will provide reference experience when workface cross upper coal pillar safely in similar conditions of Shendong coal mines area.
