Support technology and width effect of Large Section Coal Roadway

Abstract: For the problem of surrounding rock control with the increasing width. The No. 5203 railway roadway with large section(5.5×3.5m) of XIAO Jia wa coal mine was selected as the research object. Response of surrounding rock with increasing wdith was analyzed with FLAC3D. The results showed that: ①Plastic zone areas in roof ,floor and two sides are all distributed as “semi-ellipse”, increasing rate of plastic zone areas and depth with the width increasing: roof>two sides>floor; ②The displacement in roof,floor and two sides according to a index curve to depth. ③Displacement of in the same depth,surface and increasing amount: roof>two sides>floor; ④Abument pressure decreases with the increasing width in shallow part and the peak move into depth. Based on: ①Truss and Anchor Rope could be anchoraged in the shoulder stable region,could hold the roof,and the same time neutral axis move to the surface. ②The ability of bearing and preventing deformation by interaction space frame structure produced by truss and anchor rope combine cable. So,timely support technology of high strength and high pre-stressing bolt &net &truss cable was proposed. Engineering practice results: the deformation value of two sides was 97mm,the convergence value of roof and floor was 127mm and abscission layer value of roof was 3mm.
