Abstract: Based on the characteristics that temperature and pressure affect the adsorption of methane on coal, the adsorption of methane on coal at different temperatures and pressures and the deformation of coal during adsorption are studied. The results show that: the adsorption of methane to coal decreased with increasing temperature. High temperature inhibited the adsorption capacity of coal; The axial deformation of the standard coal sample after adsorption of methane is negatively correlated with temperature and positively correlated with pore pressure. At the same temperature, with the increase of pore pressure, the adsorption amount of methane in the coal body increases almost linearly; when the temperature is 80 °C, the coal body undergoes significant compression deformation.
