Abstract: The summary report of geological exploration achievements in coal mining areas is an important basis for the General Planning Preparation. Improving the quality of summary report is conducive to the formulation of a scientific and reasonable General plan of the mining area and the orderly development of coal resources. This paper analyzes and studies the problems existing in the compilation of the summary report of the geological exploration Achievements in coal mining areas. Aiming at the main problems in four aspects, it defines the task of compilation, puts forward five basic principles of compilation, and determines eight key contents of compilation. It further analyzes the deep-seated problems that hinder the compilation effect of the summary report and affect the scientific and reasonable General plan. We suggest that the summary report should be normalized in the form of technical standards. We also proposal that the development and management of mineral resources should be reformed by effective measures, in order to ensure the reasonable scope of exploration and mining rights, avoid the incongruity between the setting of mining rights and the overall planning, and improve the exploration degree of mining areas and the quality of exploration work.
