Abstract: Air leakage of surface in gob of shallow coal seam working face is one of the main reasons leading to spontaneous combustion of residual coal in gob. In this study, the gob of 22310 working face of Bulianta Coal Mine was taken as the research object, the dynamic test of the surface effective air leakage range of gob in working face with exhaust ventilation was carried out by using the dual-element tracing technology and the actual mining speed of the working face. Research results showed that the effective air leakage range corresponding to the gob of the working face is 0~123-137 m along the working face strike. Moreover, the air leakage volume on the return side of gob is larger than that on the intake side. Through calculation and comparison, the closer to the working surface, the greater the wind speed of the air leakage in the gob. The research has a certain guiding role in preventing spontaneous combustion of residual coal in gob in similar working face.
