Sag resistance of the equal-life zigzag idlers for belt conveyors

Abstract:

The sag resistance is the main resistance during the operation of the conveyor belt. In order to reduce the sag resistance, the one-dimensional Winkler viscoelastic basic model and the standard linear solid model were used to deduce the surface stress distribution of the conveyor belt sag resistance, and a new type of 45° idler set of life product was proposed. Its layout advantages were analyzed, and the sag resistance was numerically simulated, and the influence of the load, the running speed of the conveyor belt, and the running distance of different idlers were analyzed, and the correctness of the numerical simulation was verified by the experimental results. The following conclusions were obtained: the sag resistance of the equallife 45° idler group is reduced by about 30% compared with the standard 35° idler group, and the sag resistance is greatly reduced, thereby achieving the purpose of energy saving and consumption reduction of the whole belt conveyor.
