Abstract:

nsufficient lubrication is a major contributor to head sheave malfunction. The existing head sheave bearing lubrication relies on a static mode of manual oiling, which suffers from drawbacks such as extended lubrication intervals and unreliable lubrication performance, resulting in accelerated local bearing abrasion and shortened lifespan. To lower the incidence of head sheave breakdowns, this paper identifies the essential functions of the head sheave bearing lubrication system based on the lubrication principles and conditions of the head sheave bearings. Accordingly, a head sheave bearing lubrication system with swivel wheel lubrication, rolling bearing lubrication, and waste grease recycling features is devised, and an adaptive threshold method derived from Turkey is proposed to assess the bearing lubrication status using field experimental data, achieving adaptive regulation of bearing lubrication frequency and quantity. Finally, the field application study of the lubrication system is conducted, and the outcomes demonstrate that the designed lubrication system can ensure consistent and uniform lubrication effects and attain optimal lubrication results.
