Abstract: In order to strengthen the flocculation and settlement of coal slurry, a combination of electrochemical and ultrasonic pretreatment method was proposed , turbidness of supernate and sedimentation rate were chosen as evaluation index , the impact of different electrodes, electrolytes, ultrasonic energy density, ultrasonic time on sedimentation efficiency were analyzed. Contact angle meter and image analyzer were used to characterize the slime wettability and floc morphology ultrasound before and after electrochemical treatment, The results showed that: Sono-electrochemical pretreatment could improve the efficiency of coal slurry flocculation and sedimentation, compared with electrochemical pretreatment , supernate turbidity decreased by 5.88NTU and sedimentation rate improved by 2cm / min. The optional Sono-electrochemical conditions of graphite as anode and stainless steel as cathode, magnesium as electrolyte, ultrasonic time of 4min and ultrasonic energy density of 0.5 W / cm3 were obtained.
