Abstract: Water-rich sand stratum is often encountered in tunnel construction, due to poor level of cemented sand, low intensity, poor stability. After excavation, deformation is difficult to control, and the stratum is often skewed, even collapse and other accidents or construction difficulties. The sand layer in maiduoshan coal mine is consist of sand layer, argillite layer, mud-sand stone layer. If considering the influence of water, the physical and mechanical properties will be more complicated, inducing sand inrush, water burst, sand drift and other geological disasters. Research on instability failure mechanism of Water-filled factor in engineering by rock mechanical properties, hydrogeology condition, fault structure, water channels. Evaluate the development of the water-flowing fracture zone, take control countermeasures as mine-drainage water, core drilling, grouting and backfill, roadway measures. The methods were effective for water disaster control.

Key words: water-rich sand stratum, mining rock, water inrush, hydraulic conductivity fracture zone, prevention and control of water disaster
