Abstract: It is significant to optimize and design scraper conveyor's headstock for the improvement of transportation performance. However, traditional optimization method can't obtain ideal optimization results. This paper introduces the particles and computational model of DEM. By using the software EDEM, the dynamic simulation and analysis of scraper conveyor's headstock are completed. The DEM modeling analyzes scraper conveyor performance in terms of particles' power and force analysis due to changes in the operating conditions, providing evidence for optimization of scraper conveyor' headstock.
