Application of key technology of fabricated steel tube truss and support splice joints

Abstract: There are three assembling ways for fabricated steel tube truss and support in field splicing: namely, flange splice joint, sleeve splice joint and plate splice joint. Study on the design of these three joints is the key for fabricated structure. The connection design of lateral force resisting element(LFRE) for these three assembling ways is carried out based on the calculated result by “Spas+PMSAP” integrated design module. From the calculation, it can be seen that all these three splice joints could satisfy the design requirement when proper gusset plate, welding seam and bolt connections are being chosen. Through analyzing the calculated result, all these three splice joints could satisfy the requirement for fabricated steel tube truss and support during field splicing.
