Abstract: Abstract:By means of similar material simulation and numerical simulation, simulated mining of No. 8 and No. 5 coal seams in Bai Zi coal mine. Similar simulation results show that the bottom plate pressure of the No. 8 coal seam is fluctuating by the stress value of the original rock of 2.67MPa, and the coal pillars remain stable after the mining of No.8 coal seam. In the case of No.5 coal seam, the maximum abutment pressure of coal floor is 3.92MPa, which is much lower than that of coal pillar 11.8MPa. The numerical simulation shows that the vertical stress of the lower coal pillar is obviously reduced when the No. 5 coal seam is mined, and the decompression zone is formed in the coal mining area. During the upward mining of No. 5 coal seam, the pillar remained in No. 8 coal seam remained stable.
