Abstract: Due to the complexity and diversity of rock mass engineering, the problem of high stress and soft rock roadway support is still outstanding, and the deformation and failure mechanism of surrounding rock needs to be further analyzed. Taking XinYang mine as an example, the paper analyzes the failure mechanism of high stress and soft rock roadway from the aspects of the strength characteristics of surrounding rock, rheological properties of surrounding rock, the shape of roadway section and the design of support scheme. Secondly, based on engineering geological conditions and deformation and failure mechanism of deep soft rock roadway in XinYang mine, a type of high strength combined support technology is proposed, namely: anchor injection + anchor net spray + grouting + U-shaped steel bracket. The results show that this technology can not only ensure the stability of surrounding rock and supporting structure of high stress soft rock roadway, but also can control the deformation and deformation of surrounding rock and obtain good supporting effect.
