Abstract: Aiming at the shortcomings of "Reverse design" in coal preparation plant，this paper shares the research on coal preparation plant top-down design with BIM，gives out the flow of top-down design with BIM, the process of implementation and the method of model creation，finds out the acclimatization problem of Dassault 3DE system，explores preliminarily the method of coal preparation plant top-down design with BIM. The research can Provide evidences and information for other units that want to conduct research on coal preparation plant top-down design with BIM.
