Application of Reflected Trough Wave Technology in Detecting Goaf of Coal Mine

Abstract: In the process of mine production, the accuracy of the location of old goafs and gob areas have always been the key issue affecting the mining design, construction and the safety of production. This article takes unknown area of underground yard of Shanxi Coal Transportation and Marketing Group Tuoxin Coal Industry Co., Ltd as research object; and using seismic exploration technology of reflected trough wave to detect the goafs which are defined in <Geological Report>. The final imaging results of the research effectively delineated the distribution of goafs and gob areas which is verified by drilling results. The research indicates that the channel wave seismic exploration clearly delineates the distribution of suspect goafs and gob areas. Reflected trough wave technology provides technology support and safety guarantee for the design of underground depot, central substation, pump house and water tank during the process of mine’s construction, which shortened the construction period resulting effective reduction in investment requirement.
