Abstract: In order to solve the control problems of surrounding rock in roadway with thick coal and high sides, so the impacts of surrounding rock destruction were studied by numerical simulation when the roadway height and thickness of the top coal seam were different. The results show that the roadway height has a maximum impact on roadway sides, and the thickness of the top coal seam has a maximum impact on roadway roof. The feasible support scheme of bolt and anchor is proposed based on deformation characteristics of roadway and coal production and geology condition. Field test results show that the bolt-net-cable support scheme can not only effectively improve the support quality, but also control the deformation in relatively small size and ensure the stability of surrounding rock.
