Designing a World Leading Coal Mine with Integrated Innovation

Abstract: The designed production capacity of China Shenhua-Buertai Coal Mine is 20.0 Mt/a, which makes a world record among underground mines; while that of group-mine’s coal preparation plant which is synchronously designed to receive coals from four mines is 31.0 Mt/a, which makes a world record among group-mine’s coal preparation plants. This project is designed based on superior occurrence conditions of coal bed and favorable mining conditions, aiming at reaching the world's top level, by integrating the most advanced technical equipment and production management experience both at home and abroad, and actively exploring high-tech, intensive and large-scale mine production modes, which has so far achieved 5 new records by Chinese enterprises and obtained the First Prize of National Excellent Engineering Consultation in 2008. The implementation of this project has important directive function in promoting the technological progress in China’s coal industry as well as leading the scale management and scientific development of coal industry.

Recently, ground long-distance, large capacity belt conveyor has been commonly used.Coal underground mining will cause hidden danger to the belt conveyor line inevitable which passing through the upper coal. However, belt conveyor has not a suitable evaluation index and method of mining influence presently. Therefore, according to the structural characteristics of belt conveyor and research contents of mining subsidence, this paper analyzes the influence of surface deformation caused by underground mining of belt conveyor, summarizes the surface deformation requirement of belt conveyor line and analyzes the safety of a certain mine belt conveyor pass by the mine-out area based on the field example which supplies the reliable technology guarantee for the safe design and operation of line.

By numerical simulation method this paper gives a analysis to the control effect of different horizontal working resistance of support which is achieved by changing the support’s forerake angle on the stability of the top-coal in tip-to-face area under the mechanical condition of soft coal, medium coal and hard coal. The result of simulation shows that the horizontal working resistance has important effect on controling top-coal fall in tip-to-face area. But the effect vary greatly according to the hardness of coal. Regarding the effects of congtroling the roof falling, we may see that the different hardness of coal condition has a reasonable column’s forerake angle. The site observation shows that when the coal is hard, the two-leg sublevel caving shield support can better control top-coal. And the result of simulation shows that the given support parameter can not prevent the tip-to-face roof falling when the coal is soft.

Based on studying construction acceptance code and technical standards, and analyzing energy saving design requirements and common quality problems in construction, the quality pre-control measures were put foreword, including establishing supervision implementing regulations, auditing special construction scheme and setting quality control points. The construction quality of XPS board external thermal insulation system was controlled combined with site supervision, patrolling inspection and parallel check. Practice shows that these measures are very effective.

Abstract: For poor quality and air leakage problems on hole sealing of gas extraction drilling, propose a new hole sealing technology with pressure grouting which can seal cracks around the holes effectively and improve the sealing quality.It carried on a comparison test in Jin-neng company of Shenhua Ningxia Coal Corporation Ltd.. The results show that pressure grouting sealing technology increased the concentration of gas extraction by 25% to 40% than the original sealing process, the effect is significant.

And the zonal calculation is made according to different parameters. The inrush water quantity under the condition of different propulsive speed is obtained in the work surface of No.10 mining field. The inrush water quantity which is obtained can provide basic geology conditin secure for ming design and decision of No.10 mining field of Xinglongzhuang coal mine and provied theoretical supporting for inrush water quantity predicting of ming area work surfaces which have the similar hydrogeologic condition.

Aiming at frequent dynamic pressure behavior under layer mining at 3237 working face in Zhaogezhuang colliery, inducing factors of the working face, at which dynamic pressure phenomenon occurred, were analyzed comprehensively and systematically according to the geological and mining conditions. The main-stress distributing rules in front of the working face under the conditions of layer mining and top-caving mining were researched through the methods of numerical simulation, theoretical analysis and field measurement. Through the analysis of the main stress under that two different conditions, this paper proposed to change coal seam and strata energy liberation pattern., which is the coupling effect between mining covering layer and top coal caving mining and combined with local clearance kick technologies. Based on the realistic observational study of rock pressure in mine, the results showed that the deep fully-mechanized top coal caving mining in high stress areas can effectively relieve the dangerous degree of dynamic pressure phenomenon; mining covering layer method can relieved the high stress on working face, at the same time relieve the regional pressure on fully mechanized top-coal caving high stress areas, make the abutment pressure concentration coefficient for 1.39 in front of the working face, affects scope for 36m, change the mechanical condition of dynamic pressure which is caused by high stress totally, and reduce the dynamic pressure intensity greatly.

Abstract: To solve the roadway supporting problem with large section and intersection, the software flac3D is adopted to simulate and analyze its stress distribution characters and the formed both stress increasing and decreasing region along with the axial direction of the below roadway. The supporting effects in stress increasing region for different schemes are compared and the final supporting scheme for spatial intersection roadway is determined. In combination with the field condition of Xinsan mine, the concrete supporting parameters for roadway strengthening and reinforcement are designed, and got a favorable effect in practice.

Base on the analysis of the feature of steeply dipping seam mining, thought that the coal seam dip angle, roof rock strength and mining height are the main influencing factors of fractured zone height under a certain working face length condition in steeply dipping seam mining. After orthogonal experiments to the above influencing factors,the single factor range analysis and multivariate linear regression analysis of the numerical simulation results were shown. The single factor range analysis shown influence degree: the coal seam dip angle>roof rock strength>mining height. The regression formula to the fractured zone height in steeply dipping seam mining was obtained. Finally, the numerical simulation results are rational though contrasting the simulation experiment data.

Stability of caverns was a great problem in deep coal mine in China. Based on the observation, ground stress test, the micro-fabric test, numerical simulation and in-situ test, it is found that the high combined stresses, expanded mineral particle, disturbed excavation and irrational support are the critical factors. The main factors have significant impact on the stability of soft rock caverns and the different mechanisms of action are exposed. Aiming at the control of stability, a nonlinear mechanics design method of soft rock is put forward and used. Another significant method is design optimization by contrast with that of conventional intersection tunnels group of pump house and absorption well system in coal mine. The new method named integrated design includes the drainage system, excavation scheme and the support countermeasures of the tunnels group. This principle and technology is applied in deep coal tunnels group of QISHAN coal mine. In-situ measurement shows that good result of controlling the stability, the great value and prospect of industry application is obtained with the scheme.

Maceral analysis, porosity analysis, x-ray diffraction phase analysis, coal rank analysis, density and particle were measured in order to study the Physico-chemical properties of Kailuan coal. The results show that there are about 1/3 inertinite in the coal, so it is hard to float .Fine mud enriched in slit bring about competitive adsorption with the coal,which makes the flotation difficult. Much clay tight distributed in the coal also increase the difficulty of flotation. There are a lot of alkanes, alcohol compounds and kaolin in the coal. Content of intermediate density is very high.There is about 50% 0.074mm fine slime in the coal. Especially there are about 36.28% -0.045mm fine slime and 29.48% ash in it which is belongs to the high-ash slime. This silt is easily entrained into flotation and concentrates to make the ash higher. So the inherent floatability of the kind of coal is assessed difficult to flotation.

Abstract: In order to research the solvent circulation and optimization question of all- components separation of coal, using fresh NMP solvents、rectify residue NMP and decompression distillation recovered NMP solvents to mix with CS2(1:1 by volume), the Tongting coal was separated into residues, ultra-pure coal, asphaltene components and light components by adding solvents for stripping into the CS2/NMP mixed extraction solution under mild conditions. The extraction yield and FTIR absorption peaks of each group were analyzed. The results show that the order of extraction yield of coal after triple extraction by three solvents is as follows: fresh NMP solvents>rectify residue NMP>decompression distillation recovered NMP solvents. The same groups of components has the same characteristics after three different solvents extraction by analyzing with FTIR measurements. It also indicates that the fatty group components in this coal type are mainly concentrated in the asphaltene components. -OH(or-NH)with hydrogen bond and phenol are mainly concentrated in the ultra-pure coal. The mineral substances and aromatic rings of raw coals are mostly collected in residues. The rectify residue NMP can be directly used as the recycled solvent . When light component was accumulated to a certain amount, recycle part of rectify residue NMP after removing light components by decompression distillation. Based on this, the new ideas of technology route of coal group separation was proposed .
Experimental Study on Quality Index of Blending Coals for Coking Added Additives

As the lack of Coking coals resources in China the continuous increase of raw material’s price, to reduce the cost of blending coals for coking plants and to expand the types of coking coal should be paid much attention. Here we describe six schemes according to practical production. The schemes involve adding additives to replace one or two kinds of coal with strongly caking property in blending coals so as to improve the quality of blending coals and to decrease the quantity of weakly caking property coals accordingly. The results indicate three useful rules for production. If no leaning agent is added into the blending coal, as the increase of binders’ quantity, the ash content in blending coals will decrease while both volatile matter and caking index will increase. The second rule represents that if 5%-7% leaning agents are added to replace coking coal and fat coal simultaneously, the coking property will represent the best. It is also proved that if 4% leaning agents and 5% cinders are both added into the blending coal, the productivity of volatile matter can be restrained. Meanwhile, based on the high quality of blending coals, coals with weakly caking property can be increased by approximately 8%, while coking coal and fat coal can be reduced by about 6%, which means lower cost for production.

Based on the geological structure characteristics of Ju-De Coal Field, using the theory of gas vertical zoning, combination of measured results of coal gas content and composition, this paper get the conclusion that the NO.4 and NO.5 seam in Ju-De Coal Field belong to gas weathered zone and a portion of NO.8 seam pertains to the methane zone. The distribution regularity of content of gas in the NO.8 and NO.9 seam has been found out through regression analysis of the relation about the gas content and the buried depth in the methane zone.

By analyzing the control conditions of the methane occurrence, gas content distributed laws on the coal bed are studied through the linear analysis on the coal bed gas content, the thickness of overlying rock formation, coal thickness and the rate of mud to prevent the gas disaster. We have also obtained the gas emission quantity forecasting results in coalmining face by the formula of the gas geology mathematical model method. According to the research results, the regional coal and gas outburst danger was predicted, which has the influential role on the gas prevention management.

According to the features of high ground stress, large deformation and support difficulty in deep roadway at Qishan Coal Mine, the roadway soft rock characteristics are analyzed by means of the field geological investigation, scanning electron microscopic test, microscopic section test, X-ray diffraction test and laboratory physical mechanics experiment. Then the ground stress characteristics are studied by hollow inclusion stress measurement method. Finally, the type of soft rockmass is determined to be tapical high stess-jionted-swelling one with the composite deformation mechanical mechanism, which provides scientific basis for the support design.

Distribution law of abutment pressure at primary face in magmatic rock intrusion was studied. Change feature of stress field and distribution law of lead abutment pressure in roof and floor during the recovery were analyzed by using numerical model software UDEC. Study find that abutment’s pressure closes to rock stress, working face is in distressed zone and area of stress concentration were formed in coal wall field. In order to further study, Lead abutment pressure data were measured by borehole stress. Research results provide technical support for safe mining.

Environmental carrying capacity is an indication of what extents regional environmental system structure adapts to the regional socio-economic activities. In order to optimize the environmental capacity in Yulin, a system dynamics model was build to forecast the recent development trend in Yulin. Based on the six main indicators: average per capita amount of arable land, air pollution index, fresh water consumption in industry, under standard wastewater, solid waste emission, Coal extraction, it can be concluded that without consideration of environmental sustainability but only consider the resource development, Yulin City have the ability to maintain high economic growth rate in the next 10 years. However, air quality deteriorated in 2014, the environment subsystem capacity overload, water resources carrying capacity reaching its limit in 2017. The water resource and the air quality become the decisive factor which limits Yulin city’s sustainable development.

Basised on the study of single hydraulic prop, it proposed a new concept of using single hydraulic prop to build a piece support. Piece support is a new support similar to hydraulic support which is suitable for thin seam coal face. Piece support not only have the feature of single hydraulic prop ,but also have some features of hydraulic support with the low manufacturing cost of less than 10% of hydraulic support,and have more advantages when used in very thin coal seam. With the simple structure,small size and light weight, piece support have a good ability to prevent fleeing into waste rock, to prevent dumping and to prevent the decline.Use piece support method can flexibility to use and easy to transport single prop,can move fast like the hydraulic support,so that can greatly reduce the manual labor, improve mining efficiency and reduce the mining cost.

This paper introduced the structure, working principle and design key points of a capsule packer used in the underground mine stage grouting engineering. The sealing and grouting technology with the single pipe were applied to the packer and the sealing and grouting systems were simple. The steel wire swelling rubber hose selected for the cement mortar sealing element would have a high pressure. The test results showed that the design of the packer was rational, the sealing result was good, the volume of the packer was small, the weight was less and the operation was simple. The packer could he applied to the stage grouting in the small diameter deep borehole of the any angles in the underground mine.

The in-line oil contamination Monitoring technology is the research hotspots of the field of oil contamination monitoring while the development of the oil contamination sensor is the core of the in-line oil contamination monitoring technology. The paper firstly introduces the theory and the corresponding products of the oil contamination sensors and then based on the situation that all existing sensors couldn’t meet the use of the coal mine, the oil contamination sensor with two structures for the heavy gear oil is developed. The paper analyzed the main problems existed in the mine underground wireless communication system, introduced the principle of the MIMO technology and the orthogonal space-time block coding technology. The two-transmit antenna and multiple-receive mine wireless communication system was designed. For mine complex transmission environment, the orthogonal space-time block coding technology with low complexity was used. Besides, the maximum likelihood decoding was employed and multi-phase shift keying was used. The simulation results show that MIMO technology can effectively reduce error rate and improve the reliability of mine wireless communication system.

According to the problems of coal mine field safety management in our country, the “1+3+1” field safety management basic mode is designed and put forward in this paper. The study on the construction and operation mechanism of this management mode is made so as to convert the type of safety management from “Response and Recovery after accident” to “Advance Preventive before accident”, and provide new idea for raising the levels of coal mine field management and coal mine safety production.
