Abstract: In order to clear about influence coal seam strength with rock burst prevention, this paper research the relation between coal II sample’s Uniaxial compressive strength and Impact energy index of Qianqiu mine by experiments. The results show that sample’s Uniaxial compressive strength and Impact energy index have significant linear relationship. Sample’s water immersion softening tests prove that coal’s Impact energy index will decrease with Uniaxial compressive strength’s reduce. Depress the strength of coal could reduce coal’s Impact orientation, so it will be effective measure for preventing rock burst.
