Abstract: Abstract:With the difficulties of maintaining roadway along gob in (No.6) Mine of Ping Ding Shan Coal Industrial Group, the theoretical analysis and numerical simulation were done to study the effect of the width of coal pillar on the roadway stability. And the rock stress distribution was Researched and analyzed before and after the roadway was excavated. The reasonable location of roadway along gob and the optimal width of coal pillar were gained in theory. Finally, the analysis result was tested in (No.6) Mine of Ping Ding Shan Coal Industrial Group. Through this, the roadway layout can be optimized and the cost of roadway maintenance can be lowered.
